In June of 2018, RMS Cranes was contracted to provide crane support for the decommission of a 90m Alstom Turbine at the National Wind Technology Center (NREL) in Boulder, CO. This project was completed with zero incidents, or injuries.
Lift Overview: Blade Removals (Tandem Lifts): 29,000 lbs each Hub Removal: 137,000 lbs Nacelle Removal: 210,000 lbs Tower Sections: 137,000 lbs Equipment Utilized: Liebherr LR1500 (550 ton crawler) Liebherr LTM1350 6.1 (400 ton all-terrain) Tadano GR-1000XL (100 ton rough-terrain) RMS Cranes has a wind division that specializes in wind energy projects.
